Policy proposal 1, School Choice: As competition and consumer choice creates quality and diversity among American universities, it should also be introduced into America's waning public school system. The ineffective state monopoly over the education of poor children should be broken; school vouchers should be implemented nationally to afford all parents the opportunity to send their children to the K-12 school of their choice. The resultant competition among K-12 schools, public and private, will achieve similar positive results as the competition among America's universities, which offer world-leading quality, myriad choices for students, specialized options for unique talents, and competitive public institutions. Our children deserve it, and our country needs it.

Policy proposal 2, Specialized Higher Education: Public universities with prominent athletic programs should establish freestanding academic departments dedicated to the science, strategy, psychology, history, and features of individual sports, so that aspiring professional athletes acquire the knowledge to best benefit their chosen career, while also improving their marketability in coaching, training, recruiting, or any other nonathletic employment in case of career-ending injury. Athletes majoring in their sport should also be required to take at least one general education minor.
