Top Five Reasons Celebs Hate Technology
by Justin Hartfield, on technology and culture

1. File-sharing, bitTorrent, and YouTube create a state of legal anarchy, where celebrities can't easily protect their intellectual property rights.

2. -Technology was once the exclusive possession of record companies and movie studios, thus enriching the celebs; but now technology is in the hands of the people and artists thanks to market technology, threatening celebrities with competition from independent artists (internet radio, iTunes).

3. Besides the telephoto lenses, night-vision goggles, Batman-esque grappling hooks and helicopters the paparazzi used to employ, there are now far greater invasions of privacy: TMZ.com, DrudgeReport.com, FoxNews.com, thesun.co.uk, perezhilton.com, CNN.com, and eonline.com.

4. The media is constantly digging up new celebrity sex tapes home videos filmed using the latest high-tech home camera equipment. (And you thought celebrities had enough on-screen time at the office...)

5. Hackers have discovered that while most celebrities take care in keeping their personal information private, it doesn't necessary mean that employees working for these high-tech companies do the same.
